Viprachitti is an Indian mythical hero.[1] As per Surya Puran he became the king of Danavas after his brother Puloman was killed by Indra. Viprachitti married Holika who was sister of Hiranyakashipu and daughter of Diti. He was one of the 100 sons of Sage Kashyapa and Danu. He was the most powerful of the hundred.[2]

In another story mentioned in the Padma Purana, he married Simhika, the daughter of Hiranyakashipu and his son was Svarbhanu. His army defeated Devas under the guidance of Svarbhanu.

Aftermath

Viprachitti later incarnated as Jarasandha in the Mahabharata.
