Labana (also Known as Lubana, Lohana ,Lobana, Lavana)   is a social and ethnic group in India. Its members were traditionally transporters, land holding and merchants; they are now mostly agriculturists.

History of origin

Lobanas are residing in and around India from ancient times. People of Labanas are basically Rajputs., offshot of Ikshwakus of Ramayana. In 1891 Census, they were categorized under Rajputs and are descendents of Suryavanshi and Chandarvanshi Kashatriyas.

Lobana means who wear Iron Dress, i.e. dress of Military person, derived from Loh &Bana.
