In rural regions of India, women walk 1-2 miles a day, carrying water on their heads. Over time, the physical and health burdens of water collection trap families in a vicious cycle of poverty. Shaz founded Wells on Wheels to help young girls use their time attending school and enjoying their childhood instead of having to collect water in 40° heat.[17] So far over £30,000 has been raised for Wells on Wheels. [18]
Book
Memon is the author of Instagram for Dentists (2020). It provides marketing knowledge for dental professionals who wish to use Instagram for marketing.[19] The book covers topics like: the kind of Instagram account one should have, branding an account, identifying one's voice, keeping things interesting, attracting new patients, hashtagging, getting and growing authentic followers, using the influencer approach, using instagram stories and Instagram TV, creating right images, determining the content and the timing to post etc.[19] The book uses a recipe book like approach to explain the primary functions of Instagram. A photographic representation has been given for each page of the text.[20] Thea Dickens reviewed the book in British Dental Journal. She called it a "well-produced" and "attractive" book which "holds a glamorous style throughout". She found some of the images used in the book "irrelevant", "contributing only to the style of the text rather than the substance".[20]
