Yogesh Chaudhary joined [[Rashtriya Lok Dal|RLD]] in 2007. He contested in a by-election in the seat of [[Mant Assembly constituency|Mant]] in 2012 after it was vacated by [[Jayant Chaudhary]] but lost.
