Vinesh Dinkarrai Antani is born on 27 June 1946 at Navavas near [[Mandvi]] (in [[Kutch district]], Gujarat) India. His father was primary school teacher and his mother was interested in literature. He completed his secondary school from [[Nakhatrana]] and SSC in 1962. He completed Bachelor of Arts in Gujarati-Hindi from [[Bhuj]] in 1967 and Master of Arts in Gujarati-Sanskrit in 1969. He taught Gujarati at Commerce College of Bhuj for five years. In 1975, he joined [[Akashvani (radio broadcaster)|Akashvani]] as a Programme Director and voluntarily retired as Station Director. Antani has started his career with short stories. &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Holarav&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (1983), &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Ranzanavu&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (1989), &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Ahin Koi Rahetun Nathi&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Pachha Valvu&amp;#039;&amp;#039; and &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Tane Khabar Nathi, Niru&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (2008) are his collections of short stories. &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Potpotano Varsad&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (1992), &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Tya Maru Ghar Hatu&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (2004), &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Atmani Nadina Kanthe&amp;#039;&amp;#039; and &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Dhumadani Jem&amp;#039;&amp;#039; are his collections of essays. His essays under &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Doobaki&amp;#039;&amp;#039; series include &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Doobki&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Marjeeva&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Koik Smit&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Sugandh ane Smriti&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Saat Secondnu Ajavalu&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Soneri Bund&amp;#039;&amp;#039;. He edited &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Gujarati Navalikachayan: 1994-95&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (on short stories), &amp;#039;&amp;#039;2005 ni Shreshth Vaartao&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (Best Stories of 2005) and &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Gamvato&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (Essays of [[Manilal H.Patel]]).&lt;br /&gt;

He has written radio plays, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Leela Vansno Tahuko&amp;#039;&amp;#039; and &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Malipa&amp;#039;&amp;#039;. He translated Hindi playwright Mani Madhukar&amp;#039;s play as &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Andhrei Nagari&amp;#039;&amp;#039; in Gujarati.
