Vikram Chatterjee debuted in ''Saat Pake Bandha'', a TV serial on the [[Zee Bangla]] channel. After an entry into TV shows, he made his break into the wide screen in Bengali movies with a small but significant character in [[Mainak Bhowmik]]'s ''Bedroom''. He was given a lead role soon after in the film [[Elar Char Adhyay]], directed by [[Bappaditya Bandopadhyay]] based on one of [[Rabindranath Tagore]]'s story of [[Kolkata]] of the 1930s.
