== Battle with Abu Bakr Kandhari ==
The Bayana fort was stormed by Abu Bakr Kandhari in 1047.<ref>{{cite book|last=Dashora|first=Yamuna Lal|title=District Census Handbook, Bharatpur, 1951| page=iii| url= http://lsi.gov.in:8081/jspui/handle/123456789/2186|language=en}}</ref> The Rajputs were defeated and their women committed [[jauhar]] in the fort. Abu Bakr was also killed fighting and his grave is present outside Bayana. The Rajputs moved further south and his successor Tahanpala (also called Tribhuvanpala or Tawanpal) constructed the [[Timangarh]] fort.
