			Maps is affiliated to Mangalore University, recognized by Government of Karnataka, approved by Rehabilitation Council of India, New Delhi and accredited by National Assessment & Accreditation Council, New Delhi.

			Maps College was established with a noble vision of imparting and believing in quality education with a commitment to develop students with ethics and values by promoting talents to showcase their true potential. The institution stands apart by placing greater emphasis on producing professional students by providing value-based education and enabling the students to face challenges in modern life. The institute aims at instilling a sense of self-discipline and accountability among students and developing a respect for democratic, ethical and moral values.

			To be distinctive to its vision, priority and thrust, students of Maps College follow a unique practice of ‘Learning through teaching’. This is a method of teaching in which students are made to learn material and prepare lessons to teach it to other students. Teaching is giving lessons about a particular subject to a group of learners, while learning is gaining knowledge by studying, being taught and experiencing. The primary goal of teaching is to impart knowledge and to monitor change in behaviour while learning aims to understand and apply knowledge.

			To experience the same, final year B.com degree students visit the neighbouring high schools and teach various basic concepts of commerce which is now a part of Social Science curriculum. Unlike the normal classroom teaching which involves only blackboard- chalk method, students of our college made their teaching activity oriented using certain activities, which was liked by the learning students a lot. Even though commerce is at the introductory stage at the school level the students were motivated to research more on the topics, so that it would help them to choose their career in future.

			This practice is very advantageous for the students of the college in many ways. It developed and implemented teaching –learning activities and assessment tasks aligned with learning outcomes. Their teaching involved utilization and assessment of cognitive, affective and psychomotor skills too which was beneficial both for the school students as well as our students as they realized the importance of all these while teaching too. Students learnt the importance of concentration, preparation & reproduction while teaching as well as learning. The students of our college followed this practice with full enthusiasm and also motivated the fellow classmates and juniors to continue with the practice.

			#A student can confirm his/her admission by producing the original marks card & payment of fees.
			#Documents required to complete the admission process are as follows:
			#*i. Original Marks Card of the previous course with one photo copy (if original marks card is yet to be received, computer generated marks sheet attested by the Head of the Institution may be submitted)
			#*ii. Transfer Certificate from the previous School/ College
			#*iii. Aadhaar Card of the student (photo copy only)
			#*iv. 6 passport size photos (colour) with your name mentioned at the back
			#*v. Migration Certificate (applicable only for students who have studied outside Karnataka)

Maps was established in the year 2006 under the aegis of Pavoor Education Trust by the Chairmanship of Mr Dinesh Kumar Alva.

The college is affiliated to Mangalore University and offers degree programmes viz B.Com, BCA, BHS (Hotel Management) and B.ASLP along with professional coaching for CA, CS, ACCA, CMA. M.Com, M.Sc. Post Graduate Courses and other Certificate courses such as Aviation and Hospitality Management, Fashion Designing, Web Designing, Animation, Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Front Office, Event Management, Catering, Pastry & Bakery and Basic Computers are also offered. The College has excellent infrastructure with three campuses, two within the city of Mangalore at Kadri Hills and Chinmaya Lane-Bunts Hostel and other at green serene rural surroundings in Maravoor on Mangalore-Bajpe Airport road about 8 kms from Mangalore campus.

In keeping with the spirit of the college slogan, “EDUCATION FOR LIFE” elaborate, innovative, curricular, co-curricular, extra-curricular and extension activities are held to facilitate stake holders involvement and development.
