==Post-war and post-Independence==
Dubey was promoted substantive major (temporary lieutenant-colonel) on 30 January 1947.<ref name="maj">{{London Gazette|issue=37956|supp=|page=2194|date=16 May 1947}}</ref> As the 1st Punjab was assigned to the new Pakistan Army following Independence and partition, Dubey was transferred to the [[Dogra Regiment]].
