Tori Fatehpur State was founded in the [[Bundelkhand|Bundelkhand region]] in 1812 by a descendant of the royal family of [[Orchha State|Orchha]] Diwan Rai Singh of [[Baragaon, Jhansi|Baragaon]] near [[Jhansi]].
