Corbett attended the [[Royal Military College, Sandhurst]] and was [[Officer (armed forces)|commissioned]] onto the Unattached List for the [[British Indian Army]] on 19 January 1907.&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;London Gazette 18 January 1907&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt; Posted to India, he was attached to the 1st Battalion The Queens Regiment on 15 March 1907 for a year. He was admitted to Indian Army 15 March 1908 and joined [[9th Hodson&amp;#039;s Horse]].&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;January 1915 Indian Army List&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
