Every year on 15th February Tarapur Martyrs Day celebrated in the memory of 34 martyrs of Tarapur Jhanda Satyagraha.
On 15 th February 1932
freedom fighters had gathered at the Tarapur police station for hosting the National flag. During this struggle British police fired and killed too many Indians.Some dead bodies were floating in the river Ganga at Sultanganj. But 34 bodies of fighters were founded.
Out of them only 13 names were recognized and rest 21 are still unknown.
Recently PM Narendra Modi
reading out the comment of Jayram Viplav a resident from Munger in Bihar, the Prime Minister mentioned about the 'Tarapur Shahid Diwas', when the British had mercilessly killed several of a group of brave young patriots on February 15, 1932. PM said I want to thank Jayram Viplav ji for taking this incident into the Public Domain bcoz The incident didn't not received as much publicity as it should have.
