Biswas began his teaching career at [[Asutosh College]], where he joined as an assistant professor in 1996. He later joined the Department of Folklore at the [[University of Kalyani]] in 2000 and has been continuing here since then.<ref name=":1" />{{Failed verification|date=August 2024}}<br />

Dr. Biswas’s leadership extends beyond the classroom. He assumed various administrative roles, including Dean of the PG Faculty of Arts & Commerce at the University of Kalyani from 2017 to 2020.<br />

Biswas also served as the vice-chancellor (officiating) at the University of Kalyani for a brief period in 2017.
