Lonkar was born in [[Mumbai]], [[Maharashtra]], [[India]] to Ganesh and Sharmila, and has a younger sister Janhavi. She speaks [[Marathi language|Marathi]], [[Hindi]] and [[English language|English]] fluently. She used to live in [[Goregaon West]], one of the costliest suburbs and a house to many TV actors in Mumbai, she studied in Dr.S.Radhakrishnan Vidhyalaya Malad, Mumbai. Her mother Sharmila works as a technician in [[P. D. Hinduja National Hospital and Medical Research Centre|Hinduja Hospital]] while her father Ganesh works with the Union Bank of India.
