With a population of 1.7 million, the Tanis&amp;#039; are one of the largest ethnic groups in North Eastern India.&lt;br /&gt;

The Tanis&amp;#039; are scattered across larger region of Arunachal Pradesh except [[Tirap district|Tirap]], [[Changlang]], [[Longding]], [[West Kameng]] and [[Tawang]]. The major part of the Mishing tribe is scattered in different district of Upper Assam. Thousands of Tani populace are also found across the border in [[Tibet Autonomous Region]], [[China]]. Chinese government recognised Tani as members of [[Lhoba people]].&lt;br /&gt;
