&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Tabaqat-i Nasiri&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; ({{lang-fa|{{Nastaliq|طبقات ناصری}}}}), named for &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Sultan&amp;#039;&amp;#039; [[Nasiruddin Mahmud Shah, Sultan of Delhi|Nasir-ud-Din]], is an elaborate history of the Islamic world written in Persian by [[Minhaj-i-Siraj|Minhaj-i-Siraj Juzjani]]{{sfn|Bosworth|1963|p=10-11}} and completed in 1260.{{sfn|Siddiqi|2010|p=83}} Consisting of 23 volumes and written in a blunt straightforward style, Juzjani devoted many years to the creation of this book even providing references for his information.{{sfn|Mehta|1986|p=8-9}} Although a large portion of the book is devoted to the Ghurids, it also contains a history of the predecessors in Ghazna before the [[Ghaznavid]] [[Sebuktigin]] took power.{{sfn|Bosworth|1963|p=10-11}} In compiling his &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Tabaqat i Nasiri&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, Juzjani used other books now lost; part of Baihaqi&amp;#039;s reign of Sebuktigin, Abu&amp;#039;l-Qasim Imadi&amp;#039;s &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Ta&amp;#039;rikh-i mujadwal&amp;#039;&amp;#039; and most likely Ibn Haisam&amp;#039;s &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Qisas-i thani&amp;#039;&amp;#039;.{{sfn|Bosworth|1963|p=10-11}} Juzjani&amp;#039;s &amp;quot;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;tabaqat&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;quot; would initiate the form of writing for dynastic history in centuries to come.{{sfn|Siddiqi|2010|p=83}}&lt;br /&gt;

The purpose of the &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Tabaqat-i Nasiri&amp;#039;&amp;#039; was to account for the Muslim dynasties that originated in Iran and Central Asia.{{sfn|Siddiqi|2010|p=83}} It starts with the prophets and explains their piety and morality. This continues up to Abdullah, father of the prophet [[Muhammad]], at which point a history of the prophet&amp;#039;s life is told.{{sfn|Siddiqi|2010|p=83}} Within his &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Tabaqat-i Nasiri&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, Juzjani tells of his religious views and his historiographical approach to Islam and Muslim rulers.{{sfn|Siddiqi|2010|p=83}}&lt;br /&gt;
