On 28 September 2015, the SSS was one of 16 parties in Maharashtra to lose its registration for not submitting audited balance sheets and IT return documents since 2005. Thus they have lost their official election symbols.<ref name="Farmers’ stir over Bharat Forge SEZ inching towards resolution - Business Line">{{cite web | url=http://www.thehindubusinessline.com/news/farmers-stir-over-bharat-forge-sez-inching-towards-resolution/article8437663.ece | title=Farmers’ stir over Bharat Forge SEZ inching towards resolution - Business Line | publisher=Business Line | date=5 April 2016 | accessdate=23 July 2016 | author=ALKA KSHIRSAGAR}}</ref>

Raju Shetti, once allied with the NDA, became a vocal critic of the Modi and Fadnavis governments, leading him to quit the alliance in 2017. He later aligned with Sharad Pawar’s NCP for the 2019 elections, but this move backfired when he lost the Hatkanangale seat to Shiv Sena’s Dhairyasheel Mane in a major upset.<ref>{{Cite news |last=Banerjee |first=Shoumojit |date=2024-04-15 |title=Lok Sabha 2024: ‘Farmer’s voice’ Raju Shetti files nomination from Maharashtra’s sugar heartland |url=https://www.thehindu.com/elections/lok-sabha/lok-sabha-2024-farmers-voice-raju-shetti-files-nomination-from-maharashtras-sugar-heartland/article68068371.ece |access-date=2025-04-21 |work=The Hindu |language=en-IN |issn=0971-751X}}</ref>
