Tudu took part in an anti-Maoist action in September of 2020 which was held at Sirki village in [[Kalahandi]], [[Odisha]]. He had volunteered to come out of secure cover during the exchange of fire, risking his life. He was in the 5th place in the right flank assault party. Tudu crawled taking advantage of the dense vegetation to gain access to the Maoist camp. He entered the camp despite heavy fire and attacked the [[Maoists]], forcing them to flee far into the forest. During the operation, he was [[killed in action]] by the members of [[left-wing terrorism]] on 9th September 2020. The President of India posthumously conferred the prestigious Shaurya Chakra to him for his supreme sacrifices and gallant action.
