'''Saint Mary Church of Saidabad''', ([[Armenian language|Armenian]]: {{lang|hy|Սուրբ Աստվածածին Եկեղեցի}}) is a parish of the [[Armenian Apostolic Church]] situated at Saidabad, [[Cossimbazar]] near [[Berhampore, West Bengal|Baharampur]] in [[Murshidabad district]] in the [[India|Indian]] state of [[West Bengal]]. It is dedicated to [[Mary, mother of Jesus]].

==History==
The St. Mary church was built by Khoja Petros Arathoon in 1757–58<ref>{{Cite web|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=V6ceAXAEDLsC&q=Armenian+murshidabad&pg=PA436|title=The Calcutta Review|last=Volume 6|year=1846|access-date=November 29, 2018}}</ref><ref>{{Cite book|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=qkltDwAAQBAJ&q=khoja+petros&pg=PT85|title=India - Armenia: So Far yet So Close|last=Achal Malhotra|date=7 September 2018|isbn=9781642499650|access-date=December 3, 2018}}</ref> at his own expense in memory of his parents and brothers. He was at the time the head of the [[Armenians|Armenian]] community in [[Kolkata]]. The cost of the building of it was two lakh and thirty six thousand rupees.

An Armenian merchant and founder of the Armenian Philanthropic Academy, Manatsaken Vardon, lived at Saidabad. The church closed in 1860.
