Srerampur is basically an industrial constituency with an agricultural hinterland. The Howrah-Hooghly industrial belt on the west bank of the Hooghly river covers the [[Howrah (Lok Sabha constituency)|Howrah]], [[Hooghly (Lok Sabha constituency)|Hooghly]] and Srerampur constituency.
