Thakur graduated from the [[Delhi University|University of Delhi]]. == Career ==
Thakur began his career as an assistant director with Ashish Patil.<ref name=":1" /> He worked as an assistant and associate director on numerous productions before his foray into casting direction, such as [[Kumkum – Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan|Kumkum]], [[Son Pari|Sonpari]], [[Shagun]], [[Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Dhoom]] for [[StarPlus|Star Plus]] and a Hindi film, [[Agnipankh|Agni pankh]].
