The Sivaganga Park was created as a people&amp;#039;s park by the Tanjore municipality in 1871-72.&amp;lt;ref name=&amp;quot;hemingwayp271&amp;quot;&amp;gt;{{cite book|title=Tanjore District Gazetteer|first=F.
