==Release==<br />
The film released on 12 March 2010 alongside ''[[Sri Harikathe]]'', another film starring [[Sriimurali]] at the box office. Unhappy at the clash, Sriimurali stated that the producers of ''Sihigali'' were "sweet" but were "misguided" in opting to go ahead and release the film on the same day as his home production ''Sri Harikathe''.<ref name="auto">{{Cite web|url=https://www.rediff.com/movies/slide-show/slide-show-1-south-muralis-two-film-releasing-this-friday/20100311.htm|title=Kannada actor Murali's double whammy|website=Rediff}}</ref> The film's director, Lekhan, stated that the clash was inevitable owing to the film's production delays.<ref name="auto"/><br />
<br />
The film garnered negative reviews upon release, with a critic from Sify.com stating "Lekhan's brainless narrative fails to bring even decent performance from talented artists".<ref>[https://web.archive.org/web/20190922232349/https://www.sify.com/movies/sihi-gaali-loses-out-on-poor-storyline-kannada-movie-review-news-national-kdorEcgehbcsi.html sify.com]</ref> A reviewer from Rediff.com stated "the film is a turnoff right from start to finish" and that the "super melodramatic presentation of mother-son love, is outdated too".<ref>{{Cite web|url=https://movies.rediff.com/review/2010/mar/15/south-kannada-movie-review-sihigaali.htm|title=Give Sihigaali a miss!|website=Rediff}}</ref><br />
