Built by [[Bardhaman Raj#Raja Chitra Sen Rai|Chitrasen Roy]],{{sfn|Maity et al.|January 2020|p=2790}}{{sfn|Ghosh|2019|pp=81–82}} a [[Bardhaman Raj|zamindar of Burdwan]],{{sfn|Choudhuri|2019|p=314}} the temple stands near the banks of the [[Bhāgirathi-Hooghly|Bhagirathi-Hooghly]] river in the northeastern part of the city. === Siddheshwari Kali ===
In the centre of [[Garbhagriha|Garbha griha]], the Siddheshwari – a form of Kali – is seen in standing posture on base, with four arms. The ''[[murti]]'' of the deity made of [[Azadirachta indica|''neem'']] (Indian lilac) wood is about five feet tall. At the feet of the deity lies [[Shiva]], and in the left hand are ''Khadga'' and ''Normundu''.
