== Education ==
Chatterjee is a graduate of [[Princeton University]] in the United States, where he earned a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs. His academic work focused on public policy, international affairs, and global development. == Career ==
After nearly three decades of international service, Chatterjee joined Global Neighbours as Chief Executive Officer. Prior to this appointment, he served as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in China, where he was the most senior representative of the United Nations in the country and led the UN system’s work on sustainable development and international cooperation.

During his UN career, Chatterjee held senior leadership roles across development, humanitarian action, peace operations, and diplomacy. He previously served as United Nations Resident Coordinator in Kenya and concurrently held the positions of UNDP Resident Representative and UNFPA Representative in the country.

Earlier in his career, Chatterjee served as Regional Director for the Middle East and Europe at United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in Denmark. He also served as Chief of Staff of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI). His earlier assignments included leadership roles with UNICEF in Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan and Indonesia, as well as service in UN peacekeeping operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
