Shweta started her training in Carnatic music at the age of 9 from Ramamoorthy Rao Sir. Participating in cultural events and competitions gradually drew her closer to music. She considers herself very fortunate to have done her first couple of recordings as a child artiste with none other than the Mozart of Madras, AR Rahman, for the chorus of the songs 'Kuchi kuchi rakkamma' (Bombay) and 'Accham accham illai' (Indira). Shweta has sung for music directors in [[India]] like [[Ilayaraja]], [[A. R. Rahman]], [[Vidyasagar (music director)|Vidyasagar]], [[M M Keeravani]], [[M.
