==History==
[[File:Shawala Teja Singh Temple, Sialkot.jpg|thumb|Shiwala Teja Singh Temple. (before Renovation)|left]]
The temple was built by Sardar Teja Singh. The temple was sealed in 1947 during the Partition. In 1992, the temple was partially demolished by miscreants.<ref name=first /><ref name=rana /> In 2015, local Hindu leaders have urged the Pakistan government to ensure the early repairing of the crumbling building of Shawala Teja Singh temple.<ref>{{Cite web|url=http://www.dawn.com/news/1183270|title=Shawala Teja Singh temple needs preservation|first=Abid|last=Mehdi|date=21 May 2015|website=DAWN.COM}}</ref>
After 72 years, Prime Minister Imran Khan, reopened the temple to Hindus.
In 2019, the Pakistan government renovated and formally handed over the centuries-old Shawala Teja Singh Temple to the [[Pakistan Hindu Council]] for facilitating pilgrim visits and other rituals.<ref>{{Cite news|url=https://m.timesofindia.com/world/pakistan/pakistan-govt-renovates-centuries-old-shawala-teja-singh-temple-in-sialkot/articleshow/71786940.cms|title=Pakistan govt renovates centuries-old Shawala Teja Singh temple in Sialkot|access-date=2 April 2021}}</ref>
