As a young man, he was a teacher in his native city of Yazd and a close companion of the [[Timurid dynasty|Timurid]] ruler [[Shahrukh Mirza|Shahrukh]] (1405–47) and his son [[Ibrahim Sultan ibn Shahrukh|Ibrahim Sultan]].
