==Education and career==<br />
Chaly attended [[Sree Rama Varma High School]], [[Ernakulam]], then [[Maharaja's College, Ernakulam]] and finally obtained a law degree from [[Government Law College, Ernakulam]]. He enrolled as an advocate in 1986 and started practice at [[Ernakulam]].
