He ran for the seat of the [[Provincial Assembly of the Punjab]] as a candidate of [[Pakistan Muslim League (J)]] from [[Constituency PP-276 (Bahawalpur-X)]] in [[2002 Pakistani general election]] but was unsuccessful.
