V. Reddy]]. It stars [[Rajkumar (actor)|Rajkumar]] in the lead role, as [[Harishchandra]], an Indian [[mythological king]], who was renowned for upholding truth and justice under any circumstance. The film is based on poet [[Raghavanka]]&amp;#039;s work, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Harishchandra Kavya&amp;#039;&amp;#039;. The supporting cast features [[Udaykumar]], [[Pandari Bai]], [[Narasimharaju (Kannada actor)|Narasimharaju]], [[M. P. Shankar]], [[K. S. Ashwath]] and [[Kutty Padmini|Baby Padmini]]. Prior to the release of its coloured version, the film had been released many times across [[Karnataka]] state.
