He ran for the seat of the [[Provincial Assembly of the Punjab]] as a candidate of [[Pakistan Democratic Alliance]] (PDA) from Constituency PP-234 (Rahimyar Khan-III) in [[1990 Pakistani general election]], but was unsuccessful.
