The Saraswati river originates on the western bank of the [[Hooghly River|Hooghly river]] at [[Tribeni, Hooghly|Tribeni]], the river generally flows south-west through [[Singur]] and [[Dankuni]] area before reaching Chanditala at [[Domjur]].
