Satyanarayana was born on 21 January 1933 in Muchcherla village of Hasanparthi mandal, Hanamkonda district, Telangana to Narsamma and Narsaiah. During his childhood he actively participated in plays such as ''Sri Krishna Tulabharam'' and ''Satya Harischandra'', often winning accolades. With the introduction of Panchayati Raj in 1959, he began as the Sarpanch of Muchcherla, later serving as Samithi President twice, and as President of Hanamkonda Panchayat. His popularity earned him the name "Muchcherla Satyanarayana". In 1983, he contested on behalf of the [[Telugu Desam Party]] and defeated senior Congress leader T. Hayagreevachari with a majority of 21,415 votes, becoming MLA from Hanamkonda and serving as Transport Minister in [[N. T.
