After his retirement from civil service, Misra had a short spell with the [[Union Public Service Commission]] and was later appointed as the director-general of &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Festival of India&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, a series of cultural festivals held in France, USA, erstwhile [[Soviet Union]] and Japan.&amp;lt;ref name=&amp;quot;Bio Data of S.
