Giddaluru Gopala Rao from ''[[Zamin Ryot]]'' wrote that "the whole film was done with aplomb".<ref>{{Cite web|url=http://www.zaminryot.com/pdf/1997/Oct/3-Oct-1997.pdf|title=Review (middle right)|pages=9,11|work=[[Zamin Ryot]]|date=3 October 1997}}</ref> A critic from ''Andhra Today'' wrote that "Pinisetty's direction, as expected, is good. But his good work alone may not be sufficient to make up for the lack of variety and entertainment glaringly evident in the film".<ref>{{Cite web|url=http://www.andhratoday.com/movie/RUKHMIN.htm|title=RUKMINI|work=Andhra Today|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/19980213002035/http://www.andhratoday.com/movie/RUKHMIN.htm|archive-date=13 February 1998}}</ref><br />
