Against [[Karnataka cricket team|Mysore]] in the quarter-final he scored 130 to help Bihar to a two-run first-innings lead and a place in the semi-final, which they lost to [[Punjab cricket team (India)|Punjab]].<ref>{{cite web | url = https://cricketarchive.com/Archive/Events/1/Ranji_Trophy_1970-71.html| title = Ranji Trophy 1970-71| publisher = CricketArchive| accessdate = 26 January 2015}}</ref> He continued to play regularly for Bihar until 1977-78.
