'''Navigating the Digital Landscape: Promoting Digital Literacy'''
== Criticism ==
Under her leadership, NCW failed to respond to complaints from women rights associations over numerous serious rape crimes perpetrated against Kuki women in the state of Manipur, India. Ms. Sharma failed to respond to written complaints emailed directly to her office on 12 June 2023 filed by a Manipur Tribal Association headquartered abroad. The complaints clearly state the crimes and abuses faced by women, such as being, "disrobed, paraded naked, beaten and then encircled by a marauding Meitei mob and raped in public”, committed on 4 May.<ref>{{Cite web |date=2023-07-22 |title=Manipur video: Questions raised over NCW's response to complaints |url=https://www.hindustantimes.com/india-news/ncw-chairperson-rekha-sharma-faces-criticism-for-inaction-on-sex-crime-complaints-in-manipur-amid-ethnic-violence-101689964907344.html |access-date=2023-10-16 |website=Hindustan Times |language=en |archive-date=9 August 2023 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20230809154153/https://www.hindustantimes.com/india-news/ncw-chairperson-rekha-sharma-faces-criticism-for-inaction-on-sex-crime-complaints-in-manipur-amid-ethnic-violence-101689964907344.html |url-status=live }}</ref> There were no replies or acknowledgement from NCW of the complaints until a video showing the alleged crime became viral on Twitter. Critics argue that under her leadership, India has seen little to no progress on the women safety front, and the country still ranks among the least safe nations in the world for women.<ref>{{Cite web |title=Most Dangerous Countries for Women 2023 |url=https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/most-dangerous-countries-for-women |access-date=2023-10-17 |website=worldpopulationreview.com |archive-date=16 January 2024 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20240116122425/https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/most-dangerous-countries-for-women |url-status=live }}</ref> In March 2024, Sharma faced further criticism from journalists from India and abroad for her response to a complaint about women's safety in India.
