In the [[2006 West Bengal state assembly election|2006 state assembly elections]],&amp;lt;ref name=vidhansabha2006/&amp;gt; Rabindranath Mandal of [[Communist Party of India (Marxist)|CPI(M)]]  won the Rajarhat (SC) assembly seat defeating Tanmoy Mondal of [[All India Trinamool Congress|Trinamool Congress]]. Contests in most years were multi cornered but only winners and runners are being mentioned. In 2001&amp;lt;ref name=vidhansabha2001/&amp;gt; Tanmoy Mondal of Trinamool Congress defeated Rabindranath Mandal of CPI(M).
