His first poem was published at the age of eleven followed by short stories and his first novel in the year 2000, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Nishabdathayile Theerthadakan&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Pilgrim of Silence&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, [[DC Books]]). He has written and directed films including, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Kaazhchavasthukkal&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (&amp;#039;&amp;#039;The Exhibits&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, 2004) and &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Punyam Aham]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Limpid Souls&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, 2010).&lt;br /&gt;

Nair was born in [[Alappuzha district|Alappuzha]] and spent most of his younger years in [[Thakazhy]] and [[Kalarcode]].
