Prof Acharya completed his BSc (Hons. Botany) and BAMS (Hons) from [[Utkal University]], [[Bhubaneswar|Bhubaneshwar]].  He completed his post graduation in [[MD (Ayurveda)]], Dravyaguna and Ph.D in Ayurveda (Dravyaguna) from [[Gujarat University]]. He  has worked on standardization of 13 poisonous drug plant drugs and established the impact of Shodhana for better therapeutic applications.
