Sirdeshmukh graduated with an [[M.Sc.]] in [[Biochemistry]] from [[Osmania University]] in [[Hyderabad]], [[India]]. He then completed his [[Ph.D.]] at the [[Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology]] (CCMB) in [[Hyderabad]]. He also works as a consultant in neuro-oncology research at the Mazumdar-Shaw Center for Translational Research (MSCTR), where he leads transnational research programs on brain tumors.
