He was elected for the [[Lyngkyrdem (Vidhan Sabha constituency)|Lyngkyrdem]] Assembly Constituency in 2003 and 2008 on the [[Indian National Congress]] ticket, before shifting his seat to [[Pynursla (Vidhan Sabha constituency)|Pynursla]] Assembly Constituency in 2013.
