While a member of the Chandigarh Football Academy, Gill had a trial with the [[India national under-17 football team|India under-17]] side which was to take part in the [[2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup]] in India.<ref name="AIF"/> The trial was successful and Gill joined the team and the [[AIFF Elite Academy]].
