Contests in most years were among multiple candidates but only winners and runners-up are being mentioned. Rampada Samanta, Independent, defeated Raj Kumar Das of Trinamool Congress in 2001. Ramapada Samanta contesting on the [[Communist Party of India (Marxist)|CPI(M)]] symbol defeated Swapan Dome of [[Indian National Congress|Congress]] in 1996.
