==Early life==

Peruvanam Kuttan Marar was born to a family of chenda artists in Peruvanam, [[Thrissur]], Kerala. His grandfather, Peruvanam Narayana Marar and his father, Peruvanam Appu Marar were also well-known chenda artists.
