Perla has a tropical climate. In most months of the year, there is significant rainfall in Perla. There is only a short dry season and it is not very effective. [[Arecanut]] is the chief agricultural product from this place. Other crops, are: Coconut, Rubber, Cashew and Cocoa. [[Beedi]] making (various brands) is the occupation of many families here. * Marthya juma masjid is one of the ancient and historical masjids of the area.

* Bajakudlu Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple is another Famous Temple. 1.50K.m from the town.
* The Shri Raktheshwari Temple is also another temple which is situated in a place known as Poovanadka in Enmakaje Village and panchayat in Kasargod District in the Kerala- Karnataka state Border. The place where the temple is situated was having a history of more than 80 years old.
