The Buddhist ''Payasisuttanta'' and the [[Jain Agamas|Jain Agama]] ''Rayapasenaijja'' (Sanskrit ''Rājapraśnīya'') both were devoted to the refutation of Payasi's views. They both claim that he eventually converted to Buddhism or Jainism.
