== Political career ==
He started his political journey as a Nagar Panchayat councillor in 1952. He was the Chairman of Maniyar Municipality from 1957 to 1964 and became an independent MLA in 1969. Again became a Congress Party MLA from 1974 to 1977. From 1979 to 1984, he was the Wildlife Park Minister in the [[Government of Uttar Pradesh|Uttar Pradesh government]]. He remained associated with Congress throughout his life.
