Nim Him Sewwa was written by [[Nimal Mendis]] in dedication to his wife, poet Ranjani Mendis. The song was made for the 1978 [[Sinhala language|Sinhalese]]-language Sri Lankan movie &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Seetha Devi&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, an adaptation of the [[History of India|ancient Indian]] [[Sanskrit literature|Sanskrit]] [[Indian epic poetry|epic]] known as [[Ramayana]].
